Our Story

In 2011 the Terrigal Trojans Rugby Club received an invitation from the Fijian Rugby Academy to take a junior team to play rugby in Fiji. The Trojans made our first trip to Fiji in 2012 and the tour is now an annual event for our under 15’s team. The cost of the tour for the players is subsidised in part through fund raising activities.

Whilst there is no question that the tour is an amazing experience for the Trojans, ten years on the tour also has a humanitarian focus with a huge amount of new and pre-loved rugby gear, clothing, sporting equipment, school supplies and computer equipment being sent ahead of the team and given out to all the schools and villages we visit.

2016 saw the first of our “Fijian Student Exchange Programs” thanks to fundraising from previous tours. Two Fijian students were selected to make the trip out to Terrigal for a 3 week stay with one of our Trojan families, the boys attended St Edwards College and played 3 games of rugby in the Trojan jersey.

Your help will ensure the success of this annual event (apart from 2 years due to Covid) and help Fijian families in need.

In 2023 we will be sending our first ever girls team to play against the locals
